Day 1103

Why is it that, when someone wants what you have, it becomes more valuable? Lilly has become quite persnickety about what she will eat. Often turning her nose up at a meal, when her brothers become “vultures”, she eats with a gusto!!!

There have been times when a possession has gained attention and I see it in a new or renewed light as I accept the compliment. Jewelry, heirloom dishware, an item of clothing or other “things” that I take for granted suddenly becomes a bit more valuable again. With that revitalization, I always discover something…it’s not the value of the object, but the memories it holds that grab my heart.

*an antique bowl that my own Nanny used to serve her canned peaches in,

*a ring that belonged to a beloved family member

*a scarf knitted by someone near-and-dear to my heart

The list goes on and on. Although I am surrounded by MANY things, their value lies in the beautiful and rich memories each holds.
