Day 1165

Sammy had an amazing time at Walker as he practiced his manners and gained confidence. He certainly knows how to work a crowd! All four Goldens have such different approaches to meeting their public…

Ranger greets and surveys for treats!

Lilly reads people’s hearts!

Gus hesitantly waits to see if people are kind!

Sam barrels in to meet his new best friend!

As the person at the other end of the leash, I simply play the part of guide and observer. People close to me would support the idea that defines my persona well! However, we all have times when we need to step outside our comfort zone!

Teaching at the elementary level kept my audience devoted and less than critical of their presenter. At the university, I found myself initially nervous, but calmed down as my notes and outlines were a lecture safety net! Both ends of the spectrum had their joys and challenges.

It would seem that I am capable of donning a number of different, unique hats and finding a semblance of success in most settings…we all are. Stepping outside of our comfort zone can result in growth and that is always a good thing!

Wear your many hats with pride and know that, adapting to your audience, your message will be heard. The trouble with Sam is that he has only one hat… his “Happy Hat”
