Day 1205
At Mercy Hospital, Gus was surprised with an amazing gift. Toys and treats for all three boys were inside! It was a beautiful present that touched my heart as it was given with love in honor of Lilly. Incredible …
Gifts can be so amazingly personal and meaningful. As I look around The Big White House, there are a plethora of presents which grace the shelves, furniture and walls. There are times when I simply sit and allow memories to warm my heart as I look around any given room. Letting my eyes wander, or actually holding a gift, opens the doorway to the person, occasion and actual feeling associated with the item. A small bird figurine, a golden retriever sculpture, a window decoration or any other “memory item” pulls at my heart in a very real way. Each is a treasure in my world.
Some may call it clutter. My children shake their heads and tease me about reading a book by Maria Condo. Even I question the number of treasures when it’s time to dust! However, they bring me such joy, so they remain within sight…reminding me how lucky I am to have such beautiful people in my life.
For the boys, the snacks will soon be gone, but the stuffed ducks will be part of their lives for a long time. Perfect gifts for perfect pups. We are all so lucky to be engulfed by the love we see in the gifts surrounding us!
