Day 1271
These two “lions” would do just about anything we asked…well Ranger MIGHT! Sammy also puts up with a lot of shenanigans! Why!? I believe it is a combination of trust and love (with a dash of patience thrown in). They have NEVER once growled or snarled at us. Goldens are simply the sweetest!
I wish I could say the same for humans. Starting with myself, my patience does have limits. Once or twice in this life, my children have seen me snap and growl. My fuse is exceptionally long, but when it gets to the end, my kids will tell you it is frightening indeed. When only witnessed a few times in my entire life, I can only imagine the shock and fear. Poor babies!
I have encountered people who have a fuse SO short a reaction is almost instantaneous. Although unpleasant, when it is habitual, it is not unexpected. These individuals lose their impact due to the frequency and indiscriminate nature of their anger. When you explode only a handful of times in your life, the impact is much more profound.
I don’t plan to ever see the end of my fuse again. Life is more peaceful and gentle that way. Trying to model m my reactions after my Goldens, that shouldn’t be a problem. My family will breathe a sigh of relief!
