Day 1305

We received the perfect gift today. It was given from the heart and the givers knew exactly what would make us happy! We were delighted and humbled.

I am a gift-giver. It is one way I can share my love and let people know they matter to me. I don’t need gifts in return…. EVER… I simply like to give them.

However, there have certainly been cherished gifts that have found their way to me in the past. The ones that stand out in my memory are those that were given from the heart. An heirloom, something made just for me with love, a poem written with me in mind or a card with Asher’s message of love. They all reside in my heart.

One special gift came to me years ago, after my own beloved Nanny passed. My aunt was going through her things and found a note in her silverware case. “This is for Laurie from Nanny”. I cherish the note even more than the silverware.

Gifts are a way of saying “I love you and YOU matter to me.”

Did I mention that people and friendship can be the greatest gift of all? Gifts surround me everywhere I look, in the form of the wonderful friends in my life!
