Day 1323

These two buddies had an appointment at the veterinarian’s this afternoon. Ranger needed an allergy shot while Gus had some bloodwork done. Neither of the boys enjoyed the visit, but they did whatever we asked them to do…tails wagging and Golden smiles on both faces. They were perfect angels, but were most certainly ecstatic to return home!

Our clinic has such a welcoming environment and, of course, we are well-known. Never hesitant to “check things out,” our Goldens are on a first-name basis with the staff! We often joke about paying their light bills, but we appreciate their kindness, expertise and empathy.

When any of us walk into a medical situation, there is most likely an unsettled feeling within our being. It has been my experience that the minute a medical professional appears, my concern tends to lessen. Not only are these individuals knowledgeable, their bedside manner can help calm most nerves.

Being a mom, wife, and grandmother, I have seen my share of emergency situations which have been harrowing. The minute a white coat enters the room, I feel a relief that I am no longer responsible for the “plan of action.” Handing them the reins is almost instantaneous calm!

Thank you, medical professionals, for taking care of us when we have no idea what direction to head. You are true gifts to those of us who rely on your knowledge and calming presence.
