With our two newest family members, The Golden Boys need some extra love. Puppies are so very cute, but our beloved “Original Halo” of three is not forgotten. Extra treats, extra walks, extra love…all are being dispensed.

There can be arguments for both ends of the friend continuum. New friends typically share our current interests and activities. Drawn together by today’s opportunities, we tend to gravitate in that direction. Present day circumstances lead to time spent with “silver friends.” Those can certainly be beautiful moments.

Then there are the “gold friends” who have deeply touched our hearts throughout life and have helped navigate our journey. Although we might not see them often, they are treasured for shared memories and the ability to garner a space in our heart through the years.

Both new and old friends are important in our lives. The best of the best are those who blend the precious metals. Old friends who never left along with new friends who seem like they have been with us forever. All are gifts.

As for our Goldens, the puppies will soon blend into the Halo. After all, even though they are silver now, they will most certainly turn into “Gold!”
