Day 1487

These boys basically run our lives. Formerly known by our “given names,” we now hold the titles of Mommy and Daddy around the house. We have literally “gone to the dogs!”

Further evidence….

*A dear friend gave us two Great Dane beds which now reside in the front hall for their piano lounging pleasure.

*We have a subscription to Dog TV that they watch with great interest.

*We have a Suburban (the Dogmobile) for their riding comfort.

*The VERY first improvement to the cottage was a fenced-in yard to keep the Halo safe.

*Everywhere you look in our home and cottage has a dog picture, blanket, wall art, golden stuffy and so much more! Our home decor might be labeled “cozy puppy.”

*There are so many dog toys and chewy items that it is hazardous to walk through our home!

We really wouldn’t have it any other way. We give them so much, but it is a small dent in attempting to reciprocate what they offer to us…pure, selfless love. It humbles me and fills my heart with gratitude for these five beasts that only want to please.

What a wonderful world we would have if we were all like Goldens. Giving, loving, present and asking for little in return.
