Day 1069

Birthdays are for celebrating! Like Mac always says, “ The good thing about having birthdays is that you are HAVING a birthday!” Grateful for this little guy and the joy he brings! Even the Goldens were thrilled to run along as Asher tried out his birthday gift for the first time!

Remembering birthdays as a child, there were family parties, birthday treats for my classmates and “neighborhood gang” parties in the dining room! When my family was growing, the celebrations focused on the children and I loved every moment of planning and making memories. Now that the decades seem to speed by, my children and friends make my birthdays so very special!

Celebrating someone’s birthday is such an honor! I always think about how the world changed on the day that person was born. That little being, helpless and new, began to impact lives right from the start. They didn’t ask, but were given love, shelter and food, and anything else they needed. All the time “taking” but “giving” without even trying.

Babies grow, children mature and adults take their turn at honoring the younger generations. It is a beautiful cycle. What a gift to watch the joy of others as they feel loved and honored on their day.
