Day 1074

This is the “Golden Stare” that is lasered our way whenever we eat ANYTHING! Accompanied by volumes of drool, their eyes never break contact with the prize! Sometimes, I have to remind them that they didn’t offer me any kibble or that they refused to break their Milkbone in half in an offer of supreme sharing. It’s a one-way street where food is concerned!

However, they don’t hold back on sharing their love and affection. They offer their hearts in a constant flow of love…even when food gets in the way! Dogs are so beautiful.

Humans are not quite as generous by nature. Maybe our brains get in the way of sharing all we have. Planning on “having enough” for our families is a respectable reason for keeping some things close at hand. Dogs don’t seem to plan ahead!

During the pandemic, there were certain commodities that were hard to get our hands on. Toilet paper was one, along with certain food items and other needs. People began to hoard. Nobody actually needed 100 rolls of toilet paper, but still they loaded up their cars!

I am guilty of “not sharing” from time-to-time. Mostly, however, what I desire the most (and can’t get enough of) is time. Time with those I love, time to read a magazine, time to knit…time. The day could use a couple more hours, in my estimation, but I would probably fill those up as well!

So, until those hours are added to the day, it seems that I will choose to share my hours with a leash in my hand or other activities I choose to add to the calendar. In the meantime, I choose to cherish those hours I have and share the best way I can…with my Goldens. They mostly agree, unless they have to share their treats… that’s not going to happen!
