Day 1081

Technology! Entering the world in the 1950’s when dial phones and party lines were the rage, televisions (with rabbit ears) were on the horizon and turntables graced the living room, my generation has seen an explosion of inventions! Well… that ‘turntable idea’ is back, but everything else has evolved.

When technology works, it is a beautiful thing indeed! However, when there is a glitch, blood pressures soar! I lean heavily on my phone, computer and entertainment devices, but there are times when I wish the options were not even there. For example, it would be lovely to NOT be tethered to your phone while walking in the woods. Leave it home, you say????? What if you fall and need assistance? Technology can be a “Catch 22!”

My Goldens do not use technology at all. Of course, they benefit from warm water, well-lit rooms and their beloved “Dog TV," but they don’t need them! They would be satisfied with a bone to chew in the dark if their humans were near. Perhaps they know the true secret to happiness…love the one you’re with! Now, if Sammy had thumbs, he might disagree and grab a Game Boy!
