Day 1083

Back to the ‘river walk’ this morning with the Golden Boys! Sam is always first and was soon followed by Ranger and Gus. (Lilly will get her turn soon.). We have avoided that beautiful pathway for a few months due to ice and mud. Today was perfection!

Returning to a much-loved venue touches the heart strings. Visiting Lake Superior/North Shore, rollerblading paths nearby or Disney World brings just as much excitement as the first time…perhaps more. After the first visit, memories tag along and make the return even more lovely.

There are always places we return to when Minnesota changes seasons. Perhaps a favorite cozy lodge or grandma’s house for holiday dinners are the destination? Memories are also carried there in your heart.

There are places that might be bittersweet upon your return. I can think of a few that always bring a tear to my eye…yet still I return to find a different kind of beauty and solace. Even though joy might not be part of those journeys, the heart still embraces the memories with love.

So today, we revisited a beautiful place. Tomorrow, we might just take another jaunt down Memory Lane and our feet will know the way. Each time there are new experiences that touch our heart and build on the glorious memories of other visits. That is simply part of Life’s beautiful journey.
