Day 1107

Sam does not do well with “Reading the Room.” Lilly, in particular, needs to remind him that he is NOT welcome to share her dog food, bones or anything else that might be in her possession. Sam is not deterred. His happy-go-lucky spirit never gives up and it seems he considers each day a new beginning. Lilly will never change, but Sammy just keeps trying!

There are quests (and people) in my life that I simply can’t give up on. Even though, deep down, I realize that my “Sammy Attitude” is not going to reopen doors or offer a winning road map to parts of my journey where roadblocks are firmly ensconced, I can’t seem to let go. This is a flaw in my personality. You would think that Sammy’s example should be a cautionary “tail!” Of course, I am not averse to pushing forward with tenacity, but accepting the reality that some roadblocks are simply a permanent placement in my life is a challenge as well.

Learning to “Read the Room” and let go can be a freeing experience. To release a goal (or person), when it becomes obvious that they do not belong on your journey can be the most healthy decision you can make!

Sam and I need to choose wisely…and perhaps there will be fewer growls and brighter skies ahead!
