Day 1130
Our sweet boy had his first class of “Obedience 2” last Monday evening. He was so stressed that he couldn’t even keep a treat from flying out of his panting jowls! Poor buddy!
When we returned home, he sat by me and fell asleep in that upright position…sitting up! Of course, our hearts melted. He truly is such a good boy.
I was reminded of times when I was just like Sam and fell asleep standing up…much like a horse! I would correct college papers while standing beside the bed! After school lunches were made and the children tucked in, I would pull my Masters students’ papers out of my briefcase and write comments in the margins. (I always wanted them to know I read every word!) If I sat on the bed, I would fall asleep! Standing usually keeps you awake… but not always!
Right after our wedding, we went to Walt Disney World. One of our lovely days was a tour of the Utilidor (under the Magic Kingdom, there is an entire city of sorts. Roadways, costuming, etc.). It was a five hour tour and, near the end, I was so tiredI I fell asleep on my feet. Mac was astounded, but I knew I was capable from my past experience!
Sammy’s class meets on Monday and we will be more prepared. More rest and better treats! He will be a Therapy Dog soon!!!
