Lilly almost seems to have human eyes. Actually, they all have that gift. It is as if they look at you with a depth of feeling. Sometimes, their eyes show curiosity, concern, angst, love or a host of other human-like emotions. Lilly is the queen of communication with her eyes.

Eyes are the window to a person’s soul for me. Of course, circumstances can get in the way, but overall, the eyes tell the story. Meeting people for the first time, seeing those I have known for years or greeting acquaintances, their eyes clue me in to the person they are OR what they are experiencing.

There are those who show no warmth…ever. Others tell the tale of a good person going through troubling times while some have trouble hiding their emotions of anger, fear or distrust. There are just a few who ALWAYS shine kindness wherever their gaze lands (my favorite kind). All need compassion.

When reading someone’s eyes, it guides us to approach them with whatever is needed. Counsel, a hug or any other response will be accepted better if you “read the eyes.”
