Day 1151

A job well done! Gus spent the morning at our neighborhood senior complex and brought smiles to so many beautiful faces. He gently placed his nose on an arm, rested his head in numerous laps and snuggled up to a few feet as they sat and loved him. What a good boy! He was born to do this work and I am beyond grateful to be at the other end of his leash. When he arrived home, he went right to sleep…probably dreaming of all the love!

It DOES feel amazing to look back on a “job well done.” Recent accomplishments might include placing mulch in our “Secret Garden,” moving my grandparents’ 100-year-old cabin to its new home at the cottage and training Sam for his Therapy Dog certification. Looking back, they all leave me with a great sense of meaningful success! When I analyzed the reasons for those feelings, I came up with three main connections…

*Accomplishing something both challenging and worthwhile

*Actually seeing and experiencing something you have attained

*Making the world a bit more beautiful for those around us.

Often, after the adrenaline has subsided, a happy kind of tired cloaks my being…such a good feeling!

Now tomorrow, I should mow! Even though it might be a job well done, I will probably experience an entire different kind of “tired!”
