Day 1154

This boy was NOT pleased with his Mama cleaning a closet when she should have been paying attention to him. Ranger is at the age where he lets you know exactly what he is thinking!

The closet in question was the “Fibber-McGee” when I was little, but Mac calls it the suitcase closet (for good reason). It is a walk-in and houses a plethora of suitcases, two file cabinets, quilts, memorabilia, all of our published books, 40 to 50 Santa Bears and a host of “unknowns!”

Mac needed an item and moved a few suitcases into my studio to access the object of his search. As I placed thongs back in the closet, it occurred to me that the file cabinets were unnecessary and antiquated. They had to go and the “Domino Effect” was classic! Two hours later, Ranger wad still bemoaning my absence!

There have been countless times in my life when this same scenario has played out in different settings. What starts out as an innocent task turns into an event just this side short of needing a dumpster! There are a few dividends to such a purge. Obviously, you organize an area, but you also tend to find long-lost treasures in the “liquidation!” Others have an opportunity to enjoy cast-offs and the feeling of accomplishment is amazing!!!!

Now, I am down to one box of “stuff” to deal with and that can be done with a Golden (or four) at my feet! Best part of the entire cleaning event… Ranger is happy that he has my attention once again!
