Happy Birthday to our Sammy…three years old!

Today, you started your day off with extra treats and a lot of love! The rest of the special day was filled with walks, gifts, DQ Pup Cups and snuggles… you are such a gift!

When a loved one has a birthday, we all tend to honor their day with some form of attention. Parties, cards, gifts or phone calls are all quite predictable and appreciated. It might be the unpredictable surprises, for the birthday celebrity, that stand out in our memories. I have experienced more than my share and each one resides in my heart to be revisited over and over.

Beyond celebrating the birthday “person,” I like to think of their impact on the lives around them. If they hadn’t been born, the world would be so very different. For that reason, I always let them know how their birth has made my life do much better. Being happy they were born is something that needs to be shared.

For Sam, he has “spiced up" our world with his crazy antics, high energy and incredible devotion. His loving ways, and his need for attention have brought so much joy into our home! I do wish that I could communicate that to his waiting ears. Perhaps he simply knows.

For those people who don’t like the attention and claim their birthday is “just another day," remember that those who love you need to share that love. Their hearts are full of gratitude for your life and they need to let you know what is in their heart!

So…Sammy, we are so thankful for the day you were born! You are a bright light in our lives!
