Day 1173
The Goldens have their pool and we have our Aquatic Center! Today, Asher and I headed over for a swim! We were walking towards a chair when we realized that our old neighbors (they had recently moved away.) were in the next set of chaise lounges. We were delighted and sat down for a visit. As we reminisced about Christian Hill and its residents, it occurred to me that a “Walk Down Memory Lane” will take you on a few tangents. They moved out shortly before the influx of children, so their memories did not include the new “gang.” However, they pieced together relationships based on the houses.
Each house, in the neighborhood , has its own history and personality. When I was a child, the same was true. Kid-friendly homes, fun homes and homes that were adult only. We knew it then…the kids know it now. Watching Asher grow up in this nurturing environment is a true joy.
For me, I can almost superimpose my childhood memories as an overlay for the ones before my eyes today. Some of the homes have held onto their same welcoming persona while others have morphed into “adults only” residences. One beautiful thing… almost ALL are kid-friendly now!
Lucky kids to walk out the door into a wonderland of fun, creativity and support…I should know
