Day 1178

We were gone for a few hours this afternoon. After a trip to the airport to pick up our dear and amazing friends, we arrived home to be greeted by all four Goldens. They were excited beyond measure and let us know how much. We are both still standing after the barrage of love!!!

Homecomings are a gift to everyone involved. For the those returning, after a long sojourn, it is a feeling of open arms and heartfelt memories. The loved ones who have those welcoming arms, feel a completeness and warmth as they welcome their “dear hearts” back into the fold. What a warm and wonderful experience!

Whether it is a college student, world traveler, a returning service member, after-school second grader, childhood friend or Golden, it feels so good to welcome them back into our sphere. Life can feel off-kilter when loved ones are far from our reach.

Here is to returning loved ones and to the people who welcome them home. Whether it’s two or four-legged greeters that are there as a welcoming committee, “there’s no place like home!”
