Day 1202

Wherever I go, whatever I do, there are three Golden shadows near. For some, that might be slightly irritating (stepping over, nudging from doorways, lying on your feet, etc.), but for me, it is beyond comforting and beautiful. I am never alone.

People have asked me why I visit with my Goldens…why anyone would take the time to bring their Therapy Dogs to venues. My best answer is, “We visit so others might have the feeling of being loved and not alone.” It warms my heart to see other hearts open up.

We visit many who are lonely, sick or scared. Most are not in control of their predicament or living situation. Perhaps they need assisted living. Maybe they need medical care. Even the children we read with are feeling safe and warm in the presence of the dogs. It is our small way of making the world more kind and gentle.

The Goldens love to visit and I feel like this calling must be answered. So, we spend our days together… mostly with my precious beasties at my side…sometimes gifting others with their loving presence. They are blessings that need to be shared.
