Day 1239
Sam always jumps up on a wall along our walk while Ranger and Gus stick to the sidewalk. Today, as I walked my two older boys, Gus jumped right up on that wall! Ranger looked at me as if to say, “Did you see that? I can’t believe he did it!” I was surprised myself!
Loved ones in our lives surprise us from time-to-time. Often, it is a pleasant surprise, but other times it can be disconcerting. We expect those in our inner circle to be predictable and safe. When they act “out of character," it can put us on alert. Are they ill? Do they know that their behavior is unsettling? WHO ARE THEY???
Perhaps, we should try it ourselves. I am not suggesting that we dye our hair green or join a competitive ping pong club. It might just add a different perspective for ourselves and loved ones if we chose to be slightly different!
*Suggest a new restaurant.
*Plan an evening with no electronics.
*Invite some long-lost friends to dinner.
*Grab loved ones for a Day Trip.
*Take up bird-watching.
*Take a walk at an unknown park.
*Try a new recipe.
The list is endless with possibilities! However, right now I plan to feed the dogs in their regular bowls in their normal positions and then have a cup of coffee in my favorite cup. Tomorrow I can always change something!
