Day 1241
When the boys go ‘Therapy Dogging,' they return exhausted. One might even say, “Dog Tired” Yesterday, Gus grabbed a bone, but couldn’t keep his eyes open to even chew! Precious Boy!
In my books, there are two types of tired. One would be the weary, drained and on the verge of feeling ill type. That is not a good kind of tired although we have all been there. If a loved one is ill, if a new baby has their days and nights mixed up or you need to burn the midnight oil to finish a project, the feeling you have is not always pleasant. There was a time when I would need to finish reading college papers and would stand beside my bed into the wee hours just to finish the task without succumbing to sleep.
My sweet husband once witnessed me fall asleep (literally standing on my feet) at Disney!!! I will NEVER live that down! However, as I was starting to totter over, I awoke with a smile on my face! Finishing a gardening project, completing a race or closing the door on the last loved one after a family dinner brings forth the good kind of tired! When you have given your all to something close to your heart, it feels like being tucked into bed by loving hands when you finally hit the pillow!
When the pups come home from a visit, I believe they have that “Happy Tired” feeling. At least, I see a lot of tail-wagging in their sleep!
