Where I am… they are.

Whatever I am doing, they are at my feet!

If they cannot be right with me, they are watching.

At night, they sleep where I am.

Always breathing the same air…

These Goldens never leave my side unless I must be away. Their nearness might seem cloying to some, but to me, it brings comfort, a feeling of safety and an ambiance of love. I never feel the need to be away from them. It simply warms my heart to be in their presence.

With my interactions and connections to humans, I ask myself, “How can I be that for those I love?” As my Golden Boys surround me, I believe the answer is simple…be more Golden.

If I can sit close without demands, put “my people” first, pay attention to their needs and love them unconditionally, then that might be a start. However, the Goldens’ absolute selfless nature is a bit out of reach. I do like a good challenge, so I will continue to learn from The Boys and love every moment they are near.
