Day 1280

Expectations are different for everyone…including dogs. Of course, The Golden Boys don’t have too many expectations and yet, their habits and routines lead to a timeline for each day. Meals, walks and more are daily activities they count on. In fact, Ranger will start barking about ten minutes before “tummy time” and expect us to RUN towards the dog bowls…sweet boy!

We have daily routines as well. Jobs, children, volunteering, meals, sleep…all have a place in life. The older we get, the more those routines cement themselves in our daily journey. Every now-and-then, it’s good to shake up the daily schedule.

Perhaps a surprise walk in the park, a quick day trip or any other activity that might be out-of-the ordinary is good for the soul! When I look back at my day, with gratitude, I remember those little “pops of color” that surprised me during those hours. It really should be a goal to reach beyond the normal routine and find gratitude there!

Well, Ranger is barking for his afternoon meal, so I better answer that escalating call. Some of us rely on routine for happiness!
