Day 1282

Day 1282. “Walking With Goldens”

Today, on our walk, it occurred to me that I was almost dancing to keep the boys from wrapping us up in their leashes. To add to the fray, the neighbor’s dog was barking up a storm as we walked by. Leashes were twisted, Gus wanted to “visit” the unknown pup and Ranger decided to walk around us a few times for grins. Houdini would have thrown up his hands in despair! I, on the other hand, thrust my hand into the pocket of my coat and whipped out a bag of treats. Crisis averted!

I often multitask as I move through my day. It has been said that women multitask more successfully than men…Mac agrees!

My Goldens do not multitask! That is probably due to their Golden nature and also that they are males!!!!

Multitasking can be a real asset when that “to-do list” is calling your name. I figure I can focus on about three to four tasks at a time. For example, I can be cooking something on the stove, be conversing on the phone, washing dishes between “stove stirring” and have an eye on the mail that had been delivered that day. The Goldens are also ALWAYS in my sights! My mind is also plotting what needs to happen next! When one task is completed, I usually fill in the space with a new one! Whew!

Mac freely admits he can only do one thing at a time! He, however, does that one thing exceptionally well! I, on the other hand, split my attention a bit thin at times and nothing gets my full attention. My vote is to live more like Mac and the Goldens.

Even though my multitasking will probably continue, I can always set a goal to be more focused on single causes. Who am I kidding? My mind was not made that way! Mac and I complement each other… I fly around like a crazy lady and he sweeps up after my “tornado existence!” The Golden Boys just watch and follow my path of “distraction!”
