Day 1318

This New Year’s Eve, we look backward and forward… embracing memories and hopes.

Reminiscing about 2025 reminded us of our many blessings. Family, health, adventures, projects, friends and Goldens… so much to be thankful for. Gratitude is overwhelming and we are humbled.

Looking back, we also had to stand strong in the shadows of sadness. Sweet Lilly is missed every day and her memory lives on in stories, pictures and the feeling that she still resides in our hearts. She made this world a better place.

We lost a number of senior friends who were such a part of our joy. Their love and wisdom remain with us. Our very beings have been altered by knowing them…especially our Harmonica Man. Don, we miss you more than words can say.

Gazing forward into the future brings hope for the chance to connect with more amazing people through our Therapy Dog work. We never know what gifts, relationships and adventures await!

However, the present is our biggest gift. Between our beautiful memories and our excitement for what is to come, lies this moment. Finding joy in this very moment is the most incredible “present” of all. Giving our hearts to what is right before us is so often the very biggest blessing of all!

Having said that, I think I will curl up with Gus and embrace my pup AND the immediate moment right in front of my nose!
