Day 1317

How many offer a kind act without any desire for a thank you? It is always nice to be on the receiving end of gratitude, even if that is not your goal. I do Therapy Dog visits because it makes me happy to see others positively affected by The Golden Boys. It is nice to hear that you make a difference and that your time is well-spent making people smile. I do love making people happy!

Gus (Ranger and Sam) do this work because they love people and their interactions. The scratches behind the ears, the random treat and kiss on the nose are all they seek. They simply want to share love… no accolades or rewards. Their reward is to interact, snuggle in and see the look on people’s faces. They know they are making the world a better place. Nobody has to thank them for that.

There are so many lessons to learn from my Golden Halo. Selflessness is certainly one.

Good boy, “Gus Gus”. Your time at Mercy touched so many lives while you were oblivious and satisfied with a mere hug.
