Day 1376

Our home is a blissful mayhem! We had it cleaned/organized to near perfection before the arrival of puppies. Now it is a house of clutter, puppy trappings, paper towels, toys, treats…but a home of love!

These little critters have thrown a wrench in our daily routine with a gusto. Adapting has been mostly on the fly, but also a few moments of advanced planning. Feeding, sleeping, exercise and a host of other “taken for granted” daily routines have been improved as we adapt to the needs of all five Goldens.

Having said all of this, we are beyond delighted with Hank and Charlie and their addition to our lives. The bigger Golden Boys have accepted them as part of the Halo as well. Three weeks in and going strong!

Change can be stressful, enlightening and challenging, but it is one of the few “givens” in this life. Our puppy additions were planned and anticipated with joy. Other changes can take you by surprise and may not be as welcomed. Regardless of how change impacts your life, we typically must acknowledge the new direction and make a choice…go with the flow or dig in your heels and fight for the way things were. My vote is embrace the different path along the journey and adapt. There is usually a way to make lemonade out of lemons and, if the change is a positive shift, life will simply have another blessing.

For us, the house is a mess, our schedules are upended and our sleep may be lacking, but the additional love is worth every fleck of dust! Change can be amazing!!!!
