Day 1391

Waiting for the blizzard without a care in the world are the newest MacKechnies. While phones, computers, televisions and “Alexa” warn of challenging weather conditions blowing in soon, our youngest pups are living their best lives…safe, warm and protected within reach of their Mama Laurie. Life is good for the puppies!

Minnesotans tend to go into hyper-mode when a snowstorm is predicted! Even my Texan husband suggested we better stock up on coffee pods (we have plenty) before the snow starts. I bet that every large store that sells groceries is packed and that the line at the pumps is backed up for miles. We simply can’t help ourselves!

Back when my ancestors walked the same ground, I can just about hear their conversations…

“Looks like there’s snow in those clouds!”

“Better check on the cows and horses.”

“See to it that the cows are milked!”

“Grab some potatoes from the cellar.”

Unlike today’s world, where most people simply wonder what to watch on the television and check the fridge for a quick snack. I, on the other hand, have vestiges of my past relatives and plan to start baking and cooking to ward off the storm.

My advice to all…. Stay warm and dry! Snuggle in and stay off the roads if you can. Make sure the shovels are “at the ready” and try to relax. You can’t beat Mother Nature!
