Day 1406

Holding Charlie and Hank is such a joy. They snuggle right in and seem to love this time together. It won’t last long, so we enjoy it every chance we get!

Fleeting moments can be the most cherished of memories. When my children were infants, I attempted to memorize the smell, softness and peace of those little ones. Time spent with my own Nanny was precious. The first days of retirement held a sense of disbelief. Wonder accompanied many experiences, but holding those memories close seems to be a challenge as the years flow by.

Still, cuddling these puppies is a special time. Trying to slow down to imbed the feeling in my heart is my goal. There are many memories that have gained that epitome of being forever in my heart…

*Seeing my children for the first time

*Hearing a hymn that resides deep within

*The beautiful smell of my grandmother’s house

*The taste of fresh strawberries picked from the vine with my children

*Touching the soft fur of these beautiful puppies

…the senses provide the background for he best memories of all. Fleeting perhaps, but the ones that touch your heart the deepest will remain while your senses create a place where you can return to those cherished moments again and again.
