Day 1447
For various training reasons, Charlie and Hank enjoyed their first walk. Both of them did so well and were amazed at the big wide, wide world out there! Cars, scents, pedestrians, other dogs…the list of “new experiences” was endless! They were enthralled!
Orchestrating new experiences for Asher is such a joy! Planning, watching his face as he sees the world with new eyes and realizing his growth as he learns is such pure happiness! I am grateful to share in those “firsts!”
It can be challenging to remember back to my own brand new experiences. I recall the first time I drove a car alone, my first dance, my first car and my first bike ride without training wheels and a few other initial experiences. Reminiscing, I discovered my “firsts” all had something in common…each touched my heart.
Although these “firsts” are further and farther between, they still touch my heart. A vacation spot that is new, a new friend at a Therapy Dog visit, a new recipe… all bring joy.
Bringing my two boys home…Charlie and Hank… was a first in many ways and they most certainly touched my heart! Even older people can feel joy as they embrace a new experience! Don’t ever be afraid to say “Yes” to something new and different!
