Day 1451

We don’t often allow our Goldens to do our “prewash,” but every once in while, they help us with “The Clean Plate Club.” They act like they just struck gold!!!

When I was little, my Uncle Chuck was a person who could brighten anyone’s day. Helpful, supportive and possessing a great sense of humor, he was one popular guy! There were many stories of his escapades, but my favorite might just be the one surrounding dinner plates.

Being the jovial man that he was, he was a magnet for others to gather near him. One family would arrive every Sunday at about 3 or 4 to just “pay a call.” Somewhat strategically planned, they knew that their timing would result in a dinner invitation! My aunt was eventually a bit frustrated with this situation and asked my uncle to please do something. He assured her he would come up with a plan!

The very next Sunday, the visiting family had finished their dinner when my uncle announced he would clear the table. Having a perfect view of the kitchen, the “guests” watched as he placed all the dishes on the floor for the dog to “wash.” When they were licked clean, he proceeded to pick them up and place them in the cupboard! The family never stayed for dinner again!!!!!! iDay

Ranger tells me that life is short. Let the dogs lick the plates, but then rinse and place then in the dishwasher, please!!!!
