Day 1453
Our “babies” love to “ruff” house in the dirt. Perhaps it offers them traction for their crazy antics, but they arrive through the doggy door reminiscent of Pigpen from the Charlie Brown comics…a cloud of dust hovering above. We are so lucky to have that hot water outside. I’ve lost count of the number of puppy baths this spring!
We decided that our first plan to keep them clean would be to bring in sod to cover the dirt. It was ordered, delivered and ready to utilize! One problem…we are in our 70’s and soon realized those sod rolls are pretty heavy! We placed about half and then waited for Jimmy to finish the job. (Prior to handing the job over to him, our dear neighbor even came over to offer help with her pre-school son…we must have looked pretty “needy”.)
The lesson learned: Know when to throw in the towel and allow others to help. Perhaps our gifts do not utilize muscles any more! It is a challenge to admit we can’t do what we are so used to doing!
Now, to keep the pups from digging it all up!!!!! We can only hope…
