Day 1457
Gus touched so many lives at Mercy today. Doctors, patients, nurses, staff, visitors…. They shared stories, pictures, smiles, love and scratches behind the ears. Gus loved every moment, but when he got home exhaustion hit and he snuggled up under the dining room table. His Golden Halo surrounding him (and me as well).
Actually, I know that if I leave my post, they will all follow me and regroup around my new spot. There is never a moment alone at the Big White House and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am not a loner.
Some people need their “alone time” and I respect that. Although foreign to me, it is just as necessary for their well-being as my need for being near two-legged and four-legged loved ones. The world is certainly made up on a spectrum of togetherness!
If you need time absolutely to yourself, Goldens are probably not your first breed on the list. Like me, they need to be near their loved ones ALWAYS!!!! If you shut a door on them, you better get the paint and paintbrush out to deal with their scratches of desperation!
Well, it’s time for the lunch, so here we ALL go to fill the bowls. I have no complaints about being followed. They touch my heart over and over!
