Day 1466

Today was our last day at Oxbow for the school year. The teachers and staff there are incredible! We also adore our Lincoln Elementary crew who are amazing as well!

The flowers, cards and dog treats were appreciated by everybody at the Big White House and my heart was touched and humbled. Gus actually made the visit today and everyone thought he was beautiful and kind. Of course, I had to agree.

Sharing my Golden Halo with others brings me such joy. Sam and Gus were my partners today and both made such a difference in the lives they encountered.

Sam was embraced by an employee who said goodbye to their own dog a few short days ago. He thanked us for being there. His words…”Interacting with Sam meant so much to me. It began to heal my heart.”

A lovely senior lady stroked Sam’s head as she reminisced about the dogs she has loved in her life.

Gus, filling in for Ranger today, was introduced and immediately loved by the students at Oxbow Elementary. After being reassured that their beloved Ranger was doing fine, they bonded instantly with our Gus.

The cards from students and staff were delightful and the gifts so appreciated!

As always, it is humbling to accept the gratitude for sharing my dogs. With every encounter, my heart warms and, at times, it feels that I should be the one thanking them for welcoming us into their lives.

All the Goldens are asleep at my feet as I count my blessings. I certainly can think of five big gifts without any problem at all.
