Day 1467
When your grandson’s school invites you to “Donut Day,” of course you go! By the time we arrived at the gymnasium, there was already a line around the walls heading for boxes of donuts. It was delightful!
There seemed to be a huge tapestry of ages accompanying their Lincoln student. From tiny babies to senior citizens (we might have been the oldest in attendance!), everyone was smiling, waving, and enjoying their donut. It was a heart-warming scene!
I began to notice the behavior of the students present. The children were all sitting respectfully and conversing with their guests. No running, yelling or any other negative actions could be found. Concluding that could be related to the multigenerational guests who sat around each table. Perhaps propping a few “Old People” here and there in the halls might help with discipline?
Walking along in line, it occurred to me that I was somewhat incognito without a leash in my hand. That is until the amazing Assistant Principal came up to me and asked why Gus and the boys were missing. My reply was, “If the Goldens were here, no donut would be safe!”
All in all, it was a special event and we loved every minute. Thank you Lincoln Elementary!!!!
