Day 1469
Mr. Ranger has been living his best life at the cottage this weekend…endless “back roobs” on the lawn, romping with Sam and patrolling his domain. It has been a wonderful time with our eldest. We never take his health or zest for life for granted.
The cottage “insists” that moments are spent relaxing and contemplating life. Even though we have been hard at work cleaning for the summer season, there are so many benches, chairs, decks and docks that call to us. It allows the brain to slow down a bit.
Watching Ranger’s joy and feeling immense gratitude for our big guy, I realize that I take so very much for granted. Of course, health and togetherness is supreme, but what about the little things…
*the Eagle floating overhead
*the wind blowing through my hair
*the coyotes calling in the night.
*the shimmer of sun on water
*the smell of fresh air
*the warmth of the sun on my face
*the multitudes of birds everywhere
This list could go on and on, but a new goal has been set. Wherever my feet travel, I will take precious moments to stop and (literally) smell the roses. Tapping into each sense to appreciate what is surrounding me. Even if only for a few minutes each day, finding the gifts around me and feeling grateful for each is important and life-giving.
I learn so much from my Golden Halo.
