Day 1468
Deciding to make a quick run up to the cottage, it seemed like a good plan to take a couple Goldens with us… but who? Ranger is always our first choice as he approaches 13! Sam seemed like a good candidate so he could get some extra love and attention. He gets a bit lost amongst his nephews at times… poor buddy.
We have had a bit of a mouse problem at our little place. We hired people to make sure there were no more entry points and another to “rehome” the little nuggets trapped within. No more mice! Hallelujah!
After spending a few hours cleaning within the cabin, I headed out to the garage to look for a bedspread we had brought up. Seeing a likely plastic tote, I dragged it out and lifted the lid. Hundreds of mice (3 adults and two babies) attacked! Actually, they were just trying to get away from ME!!!! Somewhere between a scream and a moan, I jumped back, grabbed Sammy and headed into the cabin. Slightly embarrassed about the witnesses next door, I searched for my husband/protector. This was a job for Mac.
He dispersed them kindly and wished them well AWAY from our property!
What is it about mice and other small, scary vermin? They really can’t do much to take you down, but the aversion is overwhelming! Good thing I have Mac to protect me from their threatening siege!!!!
As for Ranger, he just watched with interest. He probably was secretly laughing at me!
