Day 1472
Today was the Art cCawl at Lincoln Elementary. Beautiful weather! Beautiful kids! Staged outside, the K, 1st and 2nd graders went from station to station as they experienced print-making, free art, chalk drawing, creative drama and a host of other artistic opportunities. My offering was “Friendship Bracelets” with a few friendship books thrown in. It was a hit! Perhaps it was the project, but it could have been their connection to the Goldens!
“Is Ranger here?”
“How is Gus?”
“You left them home?????”
My take-away, other than a sunburn, was what every educator knows…”Engage them and they will learn” Every child at the table was well-behaved, polite and happy.
Adults are not much different. When I am engaged in an activity, learning and productivity follow. When something doesn’t interest me, or an activity fails to pull me in, learning goes in one ear and out the other.
Speaking of engagement, Charlie and Hank need so much “engagement” during their training sessions! Luckily, someone invented Milk Bones!
