Day 1501

This boy can do no wrong in my eyes! He loves the warmth of a summer day, his snoozes on a couch of his choice, belly rubs, treats and his people. Always nearby, he often simply places a paw on one of our feet to make sure we are near. We adore him and cherish each day.

As he becomes more “senior”, we let him make all of the choices. He decides how far we walk and which path to take each day. It is his decision in regard to starting his day (He sleeps on a bedroom couch) and he emerges ready to eat! He is also our doggy dinner bell as he begins barking within five minutes of the allotted time. He literally can do whatever he wants or needs to do and we are happy to oblige. His age, personality and our adoration make him king!

There are always a few lucky people in everyone’s life that get the “Ranger Treatment”. Grandchildren, dearest friends and even our spouses might fall into that category. There are times when these special, chosen people can push the envelope a bit too far, but a deep breath and a memory emerges to remind us they can really do no wrong. Some fall under the heading by their heritage while others earn their membership by being absolutely wonderful!

Belonging to the Ranger Club is an honor, but the real blessing is being the recipient of the members and simply being around them!

Ranger is ready to eat his dinner now…and you know what that means! Off to feed the king!
