Day 1503
Up at the cottage, the fireworks extravaganza on July 3rd was a dazzling display, yet some family members, including Mac, who has experienced loud noises during his time in Viet Nam, and The Golden Halo, needed some extra comfort. They cozied up together indoors, a heartwarming reminder that it's okay to prioritize our well-being.
The concept of self-care is so foreign to me. It simply is not on my radar. Of course, walking my pups is good for the muscles and eating “somewhat” healthy choices can help me move towards being able to get more done, but that’s about it. My sleep habits are atrocious and my relaxation times are nonexistent. There is just so much on that To Do List!
Feeling guilty about spending time not accomplishing anything is part of who I am. As hard as I try to shift any priority my way, it is a challenge. I am not saying that I am selfless… just driven.
However, if we lose sight of self-care, we suddenly are incapable of getting to that list of tasks we MUST DO! Finding a balance is necessary. That is also something I must work on…perhaps I can put that on my list!
