Day 1528

Yesterday, two of Ranger’s favorite people stopped by for a visit. Miss Sarah and her daughter, sweet Charlotte, met Ranger during our time at Oxbow Elementary. Sarah’s classroom is a “Must Stop” for our hungry guy. In the “magic closet” there is a huge box of Milk Bones…and Ranger knows it! If she is absent, our boy will sit in front of her door and refuse to move until someone brings him one of his treats. Ranger LOVES those bones, but he loves Sarah (and her daughter) much more.

Meeting amazing people can sometimes be serendipitous. So many dots had to be connected before this “Golden” friendship could blossom and I am grateful for the unexpected gift. After thinking about meeting people and developing friendships, it occurs to me that almost every bond starts with a chance meeting.

My friends are connected to me through work, the neighborhood, volunteering and other spontaneous events. Thrown into the same environment or life adventure, for some reason a few attach themselves to your heart.

Friendship is a true gift in our lives. As the saying goes, people enter our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. It is the “lifetime people” who impact our lives in the deepest sense. Some of those folks have gone through challenging times with us and stayed right by our side. Others share a deep and honest passion for things that are of importance in our lives. There are a precious few who simply weave their way into our hearts (just because of the person they are) and reside there with warmth and love. Those are the biggest treasures.

Gratitude for all the people who have touched my life glows within. Those “reason,” “season” or “lifetime” individuals make us who we are today.
