Day 1536

The Golden Halo is incredibly alert to any changes surrounding them. For example, we went out in the back yard and one of them sensed (smelled, heard or saw) a little chipmunk. All five descended on the little guy who proceeded to run up a rain spout! I was relieved, but the pack was greatly perplexed!

My observational gifts are not that honed. Noticing changes can be a gradual awareness for me, but it eventually penetrates my being. Yesterday, on one of my walks, it occurred to me that the robins had left! I was shocked and saddened that I had missed their departure. It seemed rather early, but nature has a way of dictating the time of migration.

Chastising myself for a lack of awareness, I began to wonder what else I might be missing. The seasonal changes were not evident quite yet, but I will be on the lookout for the first leaf to turn color!

With all of the “input” flowing into our brains, it seems we tend to miss the less “flashy” events around us. Every day I attempt to pay close attention to the beauty of nature on my walks. Taking notice of changes in the people around me is also important. Simply being more present is a challenging, but worthwhile goal to nurture.

Perhaps I missed the robin’s departure, but that has helped me to be more watchful for other important changes in my world. Being more “Golden” is always an amazing g goal!
