Day 1542

All five of the Golden Boys like to watch certain shows on the television. We do subscribe to “Dog TV," but also enjoy a couple other doggy options as well. When there is a canine on the screen, they become quite attentive and even stand for a better view! Charlie was quite “taken” with an episode of Lassie the other day and I simply enjoyed watching my pup watching another pup!

What is it about televisions that draws us in and away from our surroundings? Is it the lure of adventure and a life outside our realm of normalcy? Perhaps it is escapism or a search for happier times? Whatever its allure, it can pull me in right away!

The older I get, the more I search for gentle, “feel good” entertainment. With books, television and movies, I always want to stand up at the end and have my heart a little fuller than when I sat down. Of course, it almost goes without saying that no animals can get hurt! (Did you know you can Google a site that lets you know if the dog lives! “Does the Dog Die?”)

If it has a happy ending, sign me up! Of course popcorn is a must! My Goldens would agree!
