Day 1549

Here is Charlie in The Secret Garden… mostly forbidden until Mama decides “The Golden Halo” can take a brief romp. It is a small area around the gazebo and is sectioned off with a white picket fence. They are kept out because their destruction of the backyard would be complete if the gate were left open. Goodbye green grass! Poor Goldens…because they are not allowed within, they want to be there even more.

There have certainly been times in my life when the “grass was greener” in someone else”s yard. Jobs, vacations, property, circles of friends and so many other comparable temptations. Almost every time, that grass was just a mirage. Underneath the facade, there always seemed to be a balance of good things vs challenges. In reality, it always turned out that my own life was just fine and my gratitude was embraced.

For example, perhaps my athletic abilities were not as applaudable as others in the field, but I enjoyed the competitions and found my forte’ in other pursuits. It all equals out in the end!

The grass always looks greener on the surface, but reality isn’t always what it looks like. However, in the case of the Secret Garden, this time it is true!
