Day 1551

This day, I was beyond blessed to spend time with four women who have seen me through life’s adventures. Three of our “Life’s Too Short” crew were unable to make the trek up to the cottage and we missed them greatly. Friendship is a true gift!

To coordinate the gathering, I left quite early in the morning with two Goldens. Taking all five would have been overwhelming for my guests! Deciding on Ranger and Gus was the easy part…leaving the others looking out the window was a challenge! (Mac brought them up a few hours later.). It was a sad time!

Assuming Uncle Sam and his nephews were unhappy to be left behind is probably an understatement. Our reunion can testify to that assumption. They hurtled out of the car like missiles and haven’t left my side since their arrival. Being separated, without an understanding that it is not forever, must be devastating. At least they had their Daddy!

When my twins were younger, they went to Long Lake for a couple days. I was SO concerned! Knowing they would return soon helped a bit, but not much. They were sorely missed and our reunion was almost as epic as the Goldens today!

Realizing that life separates us from loved ones is inevitable. If “parting makes your heart grow fonder”, I could do without the separation and simply stay with those my heart holds dear!
