Day 1578
Gus got a new bed today! As we are transitioning Gus and Sam to sleeping outside their kennels, we decided to give Gus his freedom first. Our sweet boy immediately made himself at home on our queen bed and, after making himself comfortable, took up more than 50% of the bed! After a couple nights, we ordered a California king for him in the hopes that he might allow us to join him. It’s being delivered right now, so we shall see…
Is there any limit to what we do for our beloved four-footed members? Evidently not at The Big White House!
When someone needs something that seems out-of-reach at first glance, I always take a second look at the situation. Saying “No” is such a knee jerk response, but there is another answer…”Perhaps, with some creative maneuvers.”
There are times when a request comes my way and my first response is negative. When raising children or teaching, I would dig into my empathy and ask myself, “Why not?” Now there were certainly times when there was a very acceptable reason to say “No,” but other times, I would make it work.
The next time you are tempted to answer a request with a quick “No,” try to ask yourself “Why not?” You might surprise yourself and the person requesting the favor will think you are amazing!!!
