Day 1606

Our house has “Golden Love Evidence” EVERYWHERE! Each and every horizontal surface has “Golden Glitter,” many walls have “Rooba-rooba” smudges, the carpets display a “Golden Sheen” and paw prints adorn the kitchen floor. When I clean, two things happen…the dogs want to “nervously participate” and it needs a redo every day! It is all a labor of love and I never, ever regret adding each boy to our family.

Living in a big, old house has a few challenges, but we adore our home. Lovingly dubbed “The Money Pit,” we are never at a loss for the next project or challenge.

*Our electricity went out years ago and the city couldn’t find where we connected to the mainline. Eventually, they discovered it was almost a block away!

*A pipe started leaking up in one of the bedroom bathrooms and the water literally flowed down the stairs as I frantically called plumbers near and far. Finally my cousin ( love you, Erik!) ran over in the middle of the night to manhandle the shut-off valve!

*Replacing a tub with a walk-in shower, it was discovered that ALL the pipes needed replacing IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE! (We made a friend in our beloved Terry Ovetacker, who fixed it all!)

This list could go on forever! However, we continue to love this old fortress!

So, a little hair, paw marks, dust and wall marks are small challenges to control AND only make us realize how lucky we are to be the caretakers. We are grateful and blessed indeed!
