Gus did such a fine job of visiting patients in the Partial Hospital Program at Unity this afternoon. While I spoke about Therapy Dogs and their importance in this world, our Golden made the rounds…as charming as ever. He even gave a few high fives and brought on the smiles. What a guy!
It occurred to me that he wasn’t trying to impress anyone or encourage people to believe in a cause. He didn’t argue or debate. He wasn’t being political at all! (Had he been running for office, he would have passed out fliers and stumped for their vote.). He did nothing but share his sweet self and share some love. If he HAD been on the ballot today, he would have won by a landslide!
In all the ads and mail that has inundated our world lately, more candidates could take a lesson from Gus. Kindness, decency, honesty and an eye towards making the world a better place would be a great platform. Gus would get my vote!
